The usual way

You've probably heard the other story.

Somebody takes the cheap bid. Then it's change order, change order, change order. Nobody asked what finish level they wanted. Nobody mentioned the cabinets take six weeks. Some of those remodels still aren't finished years later.

Usually the problem isn't bad work. It's that nobody made a plan.

How it works

We plan it before we build it.

Four steps, and you always know which one you're on.

  1. Free detailed estimate

We walk your space and send a real, line-item estimate. We built our own software to put estimates together, so you usually have it within a few days.

    Free
  2. Pre-construction

We sit down together and finish the plan: every selection, the lead times, the risks, a realistic schedule, and a budget dialed in close.

    ~3%, credited to your build
  3. Your Project Success Plan

Scope, budget, selections and schedule, all in one document. It's yours to keep. No obligation to build with us.

  4. We build it

You sign the contract, we launch, and the plan does what plans are supposed to do.

The promise

What "smooth" actually looks like.

  • A real contract

Every big job starts with one. It's come in handy more than once.

  • Lead times planned in

If your cabinets take six weeks, we know before demo, not halfway through.

  • Changes in writing

Want to change something mid-project? You'll see what it does to the schedule and budget before it happens.

  • One person running it

Blake builds the schedule, keeps you and every sub updated, and has the tough conversations early. On one job he stuck notes on the walls marking the exact scope for the electrician, so nothing got missed on the days he couldn't be there.

  • A real closeout

A punch list, plus a written list of anything still open. On our last big remodel, a countertop issue took a couple of months to sort out. It stayed on the list until we delivered.

Our last big remodel, a whole-home refresh, finished on schedule. The only extensions were changes the owners asked for, and every one of them was written down.

Why we work this way

Smooth is fast.

Dad has a saying: slow is smooth, smooth is fast. I first heard it hanging cabinets with him in a townhouse when I was learning the trade. Rush it and you hang one wrong, or drop it, and now you're slower than if you'd just taken your time.

I've relearned it the hard way. Once, rushing to finish a closet, I stood on a shelf instead of grabbing a stepladder and snapped it clean in half.

That's how we run remodels now. Take your time, think it through, do it right.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Yes. We walk your space and send a detailed, line-item estimate at no cost, usually within a few days. If you want to move forward from there, the next step is pre-construction.

Pre-construction is where we finish the plan before any work starts: every selection, the lead times, the risks, a realistic schedule and a budget dialed in close. It costs about 3% of your estimate, and that amount is credited toward the build if you go forward with us. At the end you get a Project Success Plan with the scope, budget, selections and schedule. It is yours to keep, with no obligation to build with us.

Because that is where most remodel horror stories come from: change order after change order, selections nobody talked about, and six-week waits on cabinets that nobody ordered in time. Planning up front is what lets the build run smooth and finish on time.

A single bathroom remodel is a great place to start. We also love bigger projects: a few bathrooms at once, a kitchen and baths together, or a whole-home refresh.

A guest bath refresh with a new vanity, fixtures and paint typically takes 1-2 weeks. A full primary bathroom with custom tile and layout changes runs 3-6 weeks. You get a realistic schedule during pre-construction, before we start.

A focused cabinet or appliance project may take 1-2 weeks, while a full kitchen remodel usually runs 4-8 weeks. Lead times on cabinets and counters are planned into the schedule up front.

Yes. We partner with a trusted local manufacturer to mill the boxes and doors. We handle the design with them, the delivery and the installation, so your cabinets fit the rest of your remodel.
