The Green Bookcase

In April 2021 we didn't have a shop. We had Dad's garage, his driveway, and a client who wanted a bookcase that went all the way to the ceiling.

So that's what we built. Open shelves above, shaker cabinet doors below, every shelf leveled and every joint tight, and all of it painted a deep green. We sprayed the doors in the driveway because that's where we had room. We were just making it happen.

It's still standing, and it's still the piece people point at when they ask what we do. A built-in that runs to the ceiling makes a room feel like it was built around it, and that's the difference between a bookcase and a piece of furniture pushed against a wall.

Five years later we remodel whole houses. We still build the cabinets the same way: to the wall, to the ceiling, to what the client actually owns.
